My life is starting to feel repetitive. We've been staying indoors more often these days because of the unbearable heat. I've seen the same four walls all week long and I'm starting to feel trapped. This tends to take a toll on my nerves, not to mention my creativity. So needing the inspiration, I've reached out and found some new photography challenges to keep things fun. Last week was the 5 senses, which was a lot of fun. It gave me an abstract subject to hone in and tell an interesting story. I really enjoyed how my photos turned out. This week I found another challenge that has the same mindfulness theme but in a more technical way. It's called Roll of 36.
For those playing along at home, the rules of the game are simple:
- Pick your ISO and stick with it all day.
- You only get 36 photos
A majority of my 36 turned out less than great. Most of the photos were either blurry or under exposed but I did manage to get a few great ones. All in all, I highly recommend giving this challenge a try. It's a great way to learn how to analyze your surroundings and to get out of the "shoot, shoot, shoot" state of mind. Main take away, pay attention to your setting and find something really worth capturing.
Thanks for stopping by and if you give this a try let me know how it went for you in the comments!
Until next time,
